This hands-on (laptop provided during class) workshop will help beginners learn how to use QuickBooks Pro 2011 software; however, people interested in this class should already have business bookkeeping knowledge. Using this software will help with the effectiveness of running your business with accurate financial information. This 4 hour workshop will give you a strong financial foundation for working with QuickBooks. Topics covered include: Getting Started How QuickBooks Works Accounting 101 Mastering Naviation Basics Setting up a New Company Working with Lists Working with Bank Accounts Using Other Accounts in QuickBooks QuickBooks classes are small--only 10 attendees per class, so there is plenty of time for one-on-one with the instructor, and plenty of time to get all of your questions answered.

RFP is Request for Proposal, but what does that mean and what do you need to do to submit your bid to the federal government? This workshop is designed to take you inside the organization of a proposal to understand the federal government bidding process. You will learn the structure of an RFP, how to understand every section and its requirements. You will learn how to identify required resources, and hands-on exercises to show you how to perform as a proposal manager and/or key team member to plan, develop, write, review, and deliver a complete, compliant, and compelling bid response to the federal RFP. We will also review the federal government language (ACRONYMS). Limited to 15 companies, one attendee per company.

Managing Business

FREE business research at University of Delaware. The University of Delaware offers an undergraduate business course titled "Small Business Management - BUAD 444" that allows business owners to work with a team of students to solve a business problem in their business. The business owners will invest one hour/per week for 5 weeks. In return they will receive a 15 page written report, along with a presentation of the UD student's team suggestions on strategies to improve their business. Presented by SBIR experts, the SBTDC, and the Delaware SBIR Gateway, this two-day program is designed to provide tips, tools, and insight on what it takes to win an SBIR award. Don't be left out. Learn how you can get your share of the $2.5 billion in federal funds to support, encourage, and develop new and innovative technologies. Selected applicants attend a required two-day workshop and then receive one-on-one consultations with SBIR experts, free of charge. Applicants are required to complete a Delaware SBIR Gateway Application in order to determine if the technology or innovation could be eligible for an SBIR/STTR award. The technology must be both commercializable and a topic of interest to one of the participating federal agencies. Apply early for best chance to be selected. Other criteria: In addition to federal SBIR and other guidelines, applicants must have a business in Delaware and have some rights to the proposed technology or access to innovative technology.
